Help your children or grandchildren learn the important life lessons of respect for the environment, nature and animals by educating them about the wild American Mustang. Through becoming a member of The Mustang Nation, your children will gain a healthy respect for the Earth while learning about charity.
In 2008, the Bureau of Land Management removed 5,275 wild Mustangs and burros from their natural environment on American ranges. As this continues to be a growing concern for the nation, it is important that we educate tomorrow's leaders on the plight of the American Mustang.
While you may not have the opportunity or ability to adopt a wild Mustang, you can still help by supporting the efforts of The Mustang Heritage Foundation. By becoming a member of The Mustang Nation you can lend a hand in supporting public awareness through the education of children, as well as the program's goal of increasing gentling and training programs, funding training scholarships and providing adoption assistance.
What you can do to encourage your children's interest in mustangs:
- Utilize the educational exercises from our Teacher resources page to help educate your kids about mustangs and foster social responsibility.
- Encourage your child's interest in a mustang fundraiser and be on the lookout for ways that your child's school class, boy scout/girl scout troop or church youth group can make a difference.
- Encourage your children to embrace the concept of tithing (donating 10% of income to a charitable cause) by saving a portion of their allowance to either make a monetary donation , or adopt a stuffed mustang.
- Engage your child's imagination by attending a training event sponsored by the Mustang Heritage Foundation and you'll both be amazed by what mustangs are capable of doing!
